The experience

A 7 day Arctic journey in Tromsø during the autumn equinox, centered around the Northern Lights and meaningful outdoor experiences. From aurora hunts and fjord cruising to sea kayaking and a full-day foraging hike with campfire cooking, each day brings a different side of the north.

Why the autumn equinox in Tromsø?

Tromsø during the autumn equinox is the sweet spot where longer Arctic darkness, active outdoor days, and strong seasonal energy come together for a deeper aurora experience.

Around the September 23 equinox, geomagnetic conditions improve, because of how solar wind interacts with Earth's magnetosphere, the chances of witnessing stronger Northern Lights rise. We go exactly then.

Foraging & campfire culture

Foraging & campfire culture

This is the season of wild mushrooms and delicious berries. Across this land, people go into the mountains and sustain their ancient ways of foraging and fire. We walk in guided steps and bond around the bonfire afterwards.

Do I need a visa for Norway?+
Norway is part of the Schengen Area. Whether you need a visa depends on your passport. If required, you'll usually apply for a Schengen visitor visa before travel, generally valid for up to 90 days within 180. Check official requirements early and apply as soon as possible; processing times and appointments vary.
Are the Northern Lights guaranteed?+
No. The aurora is a natural phenomenon, never guaranteed. It depends on weather, cloud cover, and solar activity. That said, Tromsø is one of the best places on Earth to try, the season begins in September, and we go at a great time with the autumn equinox.
Do I need travel insurance?+
Not mandatory, but recommended, helpful for flight delays, lost luggage, unexpected medical needs, or trip interruptions.
How cold does it get?+
Expect cold, especially evenings and nights. September reference: around 10 to 12°C by day and 4 to 8°C at night, colder with wind and rain. Layering is the best approach; we share a packing list after you apply.
Will I have electricity and phone signal?+
Yes, electricity throughout the trip. Signal is available in towns and most travel areas, but may weaken in some remote spots during activities or drives.
What is the luggage setup?+
Bring whatever feels best, suitcase, duffel, or backpack. A detailed packing list is sent after you apply.
Can I join solo?+
Yes, absolutely. Many people join solo, and this trip is a great way to meet like-minded people in a relaxed group setting.
Questions before booking?+
If you are unsure, email us or book a call with the guide. We are here for you.
