In July 2018, 10 amazing people from GUST University traveled with us to Al-Hosen Village. It was a part of their internship program to come with us to build a nursery that is completely made from natural materials. We decided to start this project to tackle the need of the local community, where mothers couldn’t work around the village, due to a lack of safe child care facilities. The nursery will provide mothers a safe space to keep their children in safe hands, as well as giving them more work opportunities.
The GUST students got to witness firsthand, what it’s like to live in a village that has been self-sustainable for generations. We took the goat and cattle through the forest to graze, milked the goats, and tasted the fresh goat milk – literally from udder to glass.
